The audio sounds very thin using The Bridge IIIP and any iPod / iPhone.
Please set the AVR into stereo mode when playing music via The Bridge IIIP.
Can I use a Bridge III with this AVR?
The X65 series of AVR receivers are designed to function with The Bridge IIIP only. The Bridge III can be connected, but will not work.
I have a source connected to my AVR via component video inputs, and my TV connected to the receiver’s component video output. Both are set for 1080i resolution. When I play a Blu-ray Disc or DVD, why is the video blocked and my TV displays the message "Copy protected analog input, use HDMI out"?
DVD and Blu-ray Disc copy protection only allows analog video output up to 576p resolution when playing DVDs and Blu-ray Discs. To view video at higher resolutions use the AVR’s HDMI inputs and HDMI output instead of its component video inputs and output.
Is it sufficient to put the AVR into standby, before connecting a Source or a TV?
For your personal safety and to avoid possible damage to your equipment and speakers, it is always a good practice to turn off and unplug the AVR and ALL source equipment from the AC output before making any audio or video system connections.
I’m having problems with a Blu-ray Disc™ player, PlayStation®3 or Xbox 360™ player that is connected to one of the AVR's HDMI™ inputs. Any suggestions as to a first step?
Unfortunately, issues with HDMI™ connectivity can be caused by many different things. Before going further, refer to the owner’s manual for your player or game console to learn how to find out the software version of the product. Then, check the manufacturer's web site to see whether the software installed in your unit is the most up-to-date. If a newer version is available, please follow the manufacturer’s instructions on how to download and install the update. In many cases, the new software will solve the problem. If problems persist, contact Harman Kardon® Customer Service for further assistance.
My receiver does not show "DTS HD Master Audio" in the display, even though the Blu-ray disc should have this format. Instead, it just shows "DTS".
With some Blu-ray discs, you have to go to the Settings Menu of your Blu-ray player and select "Bitstream" or "Bitstream Native". This will carry the DTS HD Master signal to be decoded in the AVR, and the AVR front panel should show the correct text.
Audio Return Channel is not mentioned in the owner's manual, but the HDMI output is marked ARC. How do I activate ARC?
Yes, ARC is indeed supported, although this fact is not explained in the owner's manual. In the setup menu, please activate HDMI link first, like this: Set “HDMI LINK ON”. Now you can select “HDMI ARC ON”, and ARC will be active.
Sometimes when I watch HD or 3D material, I can see white specks or "snow" on the screen. What can I do to avoid this?
Try another HDMI cable, and make sure that it is a high-speed version. This solution usually solves the problem, which is caused by insufficient cable bandwith.
